The substance of Vaninetti's painting is to be found in a poetic objectivism, apt to draw secret occasions of happiness and poesy from everyday experience.
When revisited in visual memory, Vaninetti's paintings are an elegy to the peasant Valtellina that was then descending it's so clear now into the three decades or so of its sunset. A De Profundis, a musical address, nostalgic and consolatory at the same time, to an irretrievable Valtellina.
